Snapdragon-powered Asus Padfone Infinity Lite unveiled in Taiwan; No word on the keyboard dock

Asus keeps unveiling new Padfones like it’s nobody’s business. After the Padfone Mini, Padfone X and Padfone E, we have the Padfone Infinity Lite. This model, however, is pretty much what the original Padfone Infinity was all about. While the current Infinity 2 rocks Qualcomm Snapdragon 800, this unit gets its power from a slightly slower Snapdragon 600 quad-core chip clocked at 1.7GHz (just like the original Padfone Infinity).

Rest of the specs include a 5-inch full HD screen, 13-megapixel rear camera, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and a 2,400 mAh battery. The tablet dock has a 10.1-inch full HD screen and a 5,000 mAh battery.

Unfortunately, keyboard dock wasn’t mentioned and we can only hope Asus hasn’t abandoned that idea. Cause it made their concept even better.

The Padfone Infinity Lite “phone part” will be available in March for 13,990 TWD (about $463), while the tablet dock will cost an additional 7,000 TWD (around $230). Yup, you can get more potent Nexus 5 and some mid-range tablet for the same amount of cash. Not sure what Asus is smoking thinking…
