One of the innovations Samsung is preparing for the upcoming Galaxy S5 smartphone will be called Kids Mode. As you would imagine, this feature is designed to allow owners of Sammy’s flagship device to let their kids use it (for a while).

Once enabled, the Galaxy S5 will be turned from a “serious” phone into the one made for kids. Parents are obviously allowed to control this environment by blocking certain apps, services and website; as well as limit the time their child is allowed to use the phone. Any feature beyond the Kids Mode will require a PIN input.

A “Kids quick panel” that drops down from the top of the screen will act as a control panel and a notifications menu. From here, Kids Mode could be closed, and parental control settings adjusted. In addition, Samsung will also include special Kids Store with apps games and learning apps. Once again, buying an app will require PIN input, making sure your sweetheart doesn’t break your bank.

The Kids interface is described as both colorful and flat, with easy to understand features and icons. Chances are that once it debuts on the Galaxy S5, Samsung will bring the Kids Mode to its other phones and tablets. We’ll see…
