Good news for those of you with the original Galaxy Gear smart watch – you can now use it to get walking navigation with the TurnByTurn app. Relying on Nokia’s HERE Maps, the application must be started from a compatible Samsung Galaxy smartphone which will be used to make a route. After that part is done, your Galaxy Gear will take it from there, guiding you throughout the city. Don’t like looking at the screen all the time? NO problem, you can also rely on voice guidance though that part will require holding the wrist next to your ear (so you can actually hear something).
Going forward, a Tizen version will be released to sing along newly announced Galaxy Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo. We would guess this will be a short wait, but you never know…
