StubHub Updates ShowDrift Concert App to Include Personalized Event Recommendations

March 17, 2014 – StubHub Labs, a division of StubHub, announced a major update to its local market live music and concert discovery app, ShowDrift. The service now offers fans with even more tools to better discover and explore the local music scene, including event recommendations for upcoming concerts based on artists in the user’s iTunes music library.

As major industry players and a growing number of start-ups become more involved in helping consumers access and explore their local music/event communities, ShowDrift provides users with a seamless and easy way to not only discover what is going on around them, but it also helps them easily purchase tickets through StubHub’s safe and reliable ticketing marketplace.

With the increase of mobile ticket purchasing on the go, ShowDrift is an example of how StubHub will continue to expand its mobile experience so that users can rely on the service for all phases of the live entertainment experience – ranging from discovering an event, to planning with groups, to purchasing the ticket and much more.

StubHub, the market leader in the ticketing industry, now sells one ticket per second. In 2013 alone, StubHub saw a huge 61% increase in concert ticket sales.

New features include:

  • Discover More with Music Sampling: Fans can now sample songs from artists while searching upcoming events. ShowDrift helps users discover new artists with recommendations and track samples now better than ever.
  • Improved Insight: ShowDrift users can now quickly see what’s going on around them by searching dates, venues, events and artists with the new and improved user interface.
  • Personalized Performance: Updated personalization features, including music library scanning, artist recommendations and user notifications will constantly keep ShowDrift users in the know. ShowDrift’s reminders and notifications will ensure there is never a dull moment in the Bay area.

ShowDrift, which launched in November, is currently focused on the Bay Area. It is available on iOS devices to help locals and visitors find upcoming shows across the city, from small gigs to major concerts.
