Just when we’ve told you that the first Windows Phone 8.1 devices could start selling on April 23rd, we’ve learned that Verizon’s Samsung Ativ SE won’t be one of those phones. According to TheVerge, this unit will come with Windows Phone 8 pre-installed and get the 8.1 update later in the year. Hopefully, users won’t have to wait for too long to get the latest goodies coming from Microsoft’s labs.
The earlier rumors we’ve heard suggest the Ativ SE will look very much like the Galaxy S4, boasting a 5-inch full HD screen, 13-megapixel camera on the back, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core chip, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. It is said that Verizon will start selling it later this month, making it a compelling alternative to the Nokia Lumia Icon which is widely considered the best Windows Phone device, ever.
