American rapper, singer, songwriter, entrepreneur and God knows what else will.i.am is working on its very own smart watch. The Black Eyed Peas’ frontman is a known gadget freak, so we’re not surprised to see him venturing into this hot area.
Initially, he mentioned his smart watch during a recent appearance on a British chat show called Alan Carr: Chatty Man.
“I started the company myself,” he said, “I funded it, used my own money to develop it.”
While at the show, will.i.am also added that his watch doesn’t need a smartphone connection, and that it will be able to connect to popular social services like Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
The launch date is apparently set for July, and he should release more information about this device shortly. At that time, we hope to learn whether it [watch] will use Android Gear platform or not.
In a conclusion we want to add that we like what will.i.am is doing, helping the entire smart watch space become more trendy. Kudos for that. 😉
