In a short blog post, WhatsApp announced that it has hit the half a billion active users mark. During the last few months, the company saw millions of new users coming from places like Brazil, India, Mexico and Russia. They also noted that their users are now sharing more than 700 million photos and 100 million videos every friggin’ day. That’s a lot of content going through the Internet tubes; no wonder why Facebook ended-up paying gazillion dollars for the popular messaging service.
Finally, WhatsApp said they’re just starting, hinting us some cool stuff is coming soon. Can’t wait to see what these guys and gals can come up with. 😉
