Hulu Plus subscribers who use the service via an Xbox One or PS3 or PS4 console can now control the video streaming service with their mobile devices thanks to an update to the iOS and Android version of the Hulu Plus app. The updated app automatically detects consoles on the network, and will push videos from a connected device directly to a nearby console by simply tapping the “cast” button on a mobile device. The new feature also allows users to control the Hulu viewer from their mobile devices, with the ability to pause, play and seek while a selection is playing, a virtual remote control of sorts.
Sounds an awful lot like Chromecast, but utilizing a console instead of a HDMI dongle. Are you into Hulu’s new features?
