Samsung unveiled a special version of its Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 tablet aimed at K-12 students in the U.S. The Galaxy Tab 4 Education is a 10.1-inch device that has a rugged case which should make sure students don’t destroy it that easily.
In addition, Samsung also included support for Google’s Play for Education initiative, providing students with access to teacher-approved apps, books and video and the ability to manage multiple tablets from a web console. Going forward, the Korean company plans to make the tablet compatible with the Samsung School solution in the near future, as well.
Aside from these few changes, we’re talking about the same Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, which sports a 10.1-inch WXGA (1280×800) screen, 1.2Ghz quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, while Android 4.4 KitKat is running the show.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Education is now available for $369.99 through Samsung partners for deployments for academic year 2014-15.
