Chinese OEM Hisense is entering the Windows Phone market with the MIRA6 smartphone. It’s a mid-range device with specs that include a 5-inch HD screen (most likely 720p), 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core chip, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of expandable storage, two SIM card slots and 4G TD-LTE support that is compatible with China Mobile’s network. In addition, the MIRA6 boasts an 8-megapixel camera on the back that is coupled with a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter for taking great selfies. All this comes packed into a 7.18mm-thin body, making for a that much sexier look and feel.
Hisense failed to mention any details on availability and pricing. Some of their equipment is already available in the U.S. but that doesn’t mean the MIRA6 will follow suit. As you know, phones require different kind of certification…
In any case, this is a big news for Microsoft which is hoping to grow its market share by adding more partners on board, reaching customers in the world’s emerging markets.
