Although the HTC One M8 is still a rather awesome device — and one of the best phones money can buy — we can’t help but start thinking about its successor and what it will be all about.
Some rumors have already started coming in, suggesting the Taiwanese company will keep using an all-aluminum body while also adding a newer, faster hardware to the mix.
Before I start, let me add that we don’t expect to see the One M9 released in 2014. We do hope for the One M8 refresh to be out later this year, sporting a slightly faster Snapdragon 805 chip and perhaps an additional gig of RAM (for a total of 3GB). Next year’s version, however, should be a whole different beast.
Here’s what the upcoming One M9 should be all about (or so we hope):
- 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chip
- 4GB of RAM
- QHD screen (1440 x 2560 pixels)
- Powerful dual camera on the back
- 300Mbps 4G LTE connectivity support
- All-aluminum water- and dust-resistant body
Yes, I just described a dream phone. The problem HTC will face at the time the M9 launches is that Samsung too will be out with a device made out of aluminum. Heck, we would expect other handset makers to join the “metal party” which is rather awesome.
Is there any else you would want from the HTC One M9?
