IUNI U3 is one of those beast phones you’ll have hard time buying

Chinese handset makers are getting better with the day. We’ve seen great products from the likes of Xiaomi, Meizu, Oppo, OnePlus and Gionee; and now IUNI is joining the race to launch an amazing phone with incredibly low price.

The IUNI U3 has all of the latest bells and whistles you expect in a high-end phone. True, it doesn’t rock Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 805 but slightly slower Snapdragon 801 (clocked at 2.3GHz); but everything else is top notch. There’s a 5.5-inch 2K LCD Sharp display “surrounded” by an ultra slim (5mm) bezel that makes this phone as big as the Sony Xperia Z1, which has a smaller 5-inch screen. In addition, we have 13-megapixel rear camera with F2.0 aperture and optical image stabilization, 4MP UltraPixel front-facing camera, 3GB of RAM, 4G LTE connectivity support, dual SIM capability and a 3,000 mAh battery. The best part – all this comes wrapped in a sexy lookin’ magnesium alloy unibody. And the price is set at 2,000 Yuan, which translates to roughly $325!

You got that right, such powerful, metal-clad device will be sold for less than $350!

Starting September 10, the company will start offering the U3 on a “strict queuing reservation system” in order to avoid low stock. OnePlus did something similar, and Xiaomi does it all the time.

Alas, this is a China-only device and as I’m writing this, we’ve no idea whether it will ever make it to the Western hemisphere. We would guess that some smart Chinese exporter will pick up the IUNI U3 and offer it to international audience, but they’ll most definitely make it more expensive. We’ll see… In the meantime, feel free to tell us how you like this phone and whether that’s something you would want to buy?
