Acer is up for a big show in Germany, having announced a slew of new devices. Aside from tablets we’re about to talk here, they also had few new laptops at display, but ahem, you’ll have to read about those on some other site. Let’s quickly dive into the new mobile devices Acer announced at IFA, shall we?

Acer Iconia Tab 8 W

This is an 8-inch Windows 8.1 tablet that comes with a one-year complementary access to Microsoft Office 365 Personal. It’s a slim device with a 9.75 mm (0.38 inches) profile and a weight of 370 grams (0.8 pounds). That 8-inch screen is based on IPS technology and can show 1280 x 800 pixels.

Inside we find Intel’s Atom Z3735G quad-core processor and unfortunately just 1GB of RAM. Not sure that’s enough to provide decent Windows experience, but what do you I know. The device also includes dual stereo speakers and a pair of cameras.

Users will also be able to get few accessories for the Iconia Tab 8 W, including the 200-gram Acer Crunch Keyboard for, you know, typing faster.

This, as you would assume, is a 10-inch tablet which has a full HD IPS display and is built using the Zero Air Gap technology. Said screen is protected by the next generation of Corning Gorilla Glass, which increases damage and scratch resistance. There’s also Dolby Digital Plus sound included so you can “properly” consume media while on the go.

Other notable specs include MediaTek’s quad-core processor (we’re not sure which one, though), Wireless Display capability, while Android 4.4 KitKat is running the show. The amount of RAM and internal storage is unknown.

The Iconia Tab 10 will be available in black and white.

Just like the Iconia Tab 10, this 8-incher runs Android. Inside, however, we have a totally different chip – the Intel Atom Z3735G quad-core processor.

The Iconia One 8 is made for the youth and is, in that sense, available in no less than 10 different colors, including Jade Green, Sunshine Yellow, Vivid Orange, Sky Blue, Essential White, Midnight Black, Fragrant Pink, Violet Purple, Mia Blue and Garnet Red.

The device has a back cover decorated with a sophisticated textured pattern that should allow for a firm grip. Measuring only 8.5 millimeters (0.3 inches) thin and weighing less than 340 grams (0.7 pounds), the Iconia One 8 is small enough to “slip into a small bag and be carried everywhere.”

Availability

In EMEA, the Iconia Tab 8 W will be available in October at a starting price of 149 EUR; the Iconia Tab 10 will be available from September at a starting price of 199 EUR; the Iconia One 8 will be available in October at a starting price of 149 EUR.

In Pan America, the Iconia Tab 8 W will be available in November at a starting price of $149.99; while the Iconia Tab 10 will start selling in September at a starting price of $199.
