While the LG G Flex 2 won’t be out before next year, that doesn’t stop the media from uncovering bits about it.
According to a recent report which cites an executive at LG India, the next phone in the G Flex series will have a smaller but higher-res screen.
Current G Flex has a massive 6-inch display that tops at 720 x 1280 pixels, making for a rather unimpressive (by today’s standards) 245 ppi.
It is, however, not clear whether the G Flex 2 will rock a full HD (1080 x 1920) or Quad HD (1440 x 2560) display; and honestly, we don’t think that matters as much. What does matter is the rest of the hardware LG manages to cram under the hood. We would expect top components, along with some fancy software enhancements that take advantage of the unique phone design.
Last year’s and still current LG G Flex was released in just a few markets, including South Korea and United States. It didn’t sell like crazy, but we assume that wasn’t the plan anyway. As far as we can tell, the idea was to show the world what LG can do, and to further advance the LG brand. If that was the case, we say they managed to accomplish the goal. What do you think?
