Make your old iPhone look like it’s running iOS 7

There’s a way to make your old iPhone look like it’s running iOS 7, all with the fancy flat interface.

The solution is everything but official and while working to make this happen, you may easily end-up with a bricked device. So no – this isn’t something everyone should try.

On the other hand, if you’re confident enough — or even better, if you already jailbroken your iPhone — feel free to proceed. Just don’t hold us liable if something goes wrong.

The name of this custom firmware is Whited00r, and it’s made for devices that are no longer supported by Apple, including the original iPhone, the iPhone 3G, as well as the first and second-generation iPod touch. The related Grayd00r project supports the third-get iPod Touch and the original iPad.

Despite the new look, Whited00r is actually based on iOS 3.x though you’ll still be able to benefit from multitasking, control center, Siri, lockscreen notifications and new camera app with video recording.

Both the official App Store and Cydia come included, as well as the option to run some of the newer apps thanks to the AppTimeMachine feature. We have hard time believing that all apps will run without few glitches here and there, but nothing stops you from trying them out.

The custom ROM is currently at version 7.1 with future updates coming your way through Cydia. The initial installation process can be done from a Windows PC or a Mac.

So are you ready to put some new life into you old iPhone?
