HTC has decided to celebrate the recent start of the UEFA Champions League with a special version of its One M8 smartphone. The specially engraved Champions League Collector’s Edition variant of the HTC One (M8) has been unveiled but it’s not readily available for purchase.
Instead of offering it through regular channels (i.e. phone retailers and mobile operators), the Taiwanese company will be giving away few of these units to folks keeping up with HTC’s social media activities. Or something of that sorts; it’s unclear how exactly you could buy one of these, but it’s usually the case that this sort of limited edition models are going to the vendor’s biggest fans.
Aside from engraving the iconic image of the UEFA Champions League trophy on the aluminium rear, this remains the same HTC One M8 under the hood, boasting Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 chip, 2GB of RAM, 5-inch full HD screen, dual cameras on the back, HTC BoomSound audio tech, and so on and on.
We would love to see the newer Snapdragon 805 running the show, but then again – no one’s asking us a thing. And besides, it’s not like you’ll be able to get one of these anyway…
