It’s not the first time we’re mentioning the Sony Xperia z4 on IntoMobile. We’ve already told you that the Japanese company is preparing to unveil its next flagship device early next year. Here we want to sum all of the rumors we’ve heard so far so you know what to expect. Let’s start with the hardware…
1. Specs
The Xperia Z4 will be a power-house under the hood boasting the following components:
- 5.4-inch Quad HD screen
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chip
- 4GB of RAM
- 20.7MP rear camera which will be better than the one the Z3 has
- 4.8MP front-facing camera3420 mAh battery that should keep the phone going for more than 24 hours
Hopefully, Android 5.0 Lollipop will run the show right from the get-go. Snapdragon 810 will have to wait for some other model, perhaps the Xperia Z5?
2. Availability
Chances are Sony will use CES in Las Vegas to announce the Xperia Z4. The company has a press conference scheduled for January 5th when we may also see the Z4 Ultra unveiled. More on that in a minute.
However, since the Z3 has hit the market in September, Sony will likely postpone the actual launch for another few months. If I had to bet, the Z4 will start hitting the store shelves at some point in April. Though you never know, perhaps we see it in March.
3. Xperia Z4 Ultra
This could be the next phone in the Xperia Z Ultra line-up. According to PhoneArena, this model will come with specs that include the following:
- 5.9-inch display, most likely with Quad HD resolution
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chip
- 4GB of RAM
- 16MP main camera
- 5.7mm thick body
Finally, we expect both the Xperia Z4 and Xperia Z4 Ultra to sport standard-for-Sony water-resistant capabilities.
