Sony Ericsson W150i TeaCake is an Android-powered Walkman phone?

I assume we expected something like this to happen. After all when you have such a powerful brand as Sony does with Walkman, you do want to extend its reach all the time. Apparently, that’s exactly what Sony Ericsson is up to as they prepare to launch the first Android-powered Walkman smartphone.

Nothing is confirmed at the moment and all we have is a single “in the wild” photo showing the upcoming W150i aka TeaCake device. It is said this baby will rock a 2.6-inch QVGA display, 5-megapixel camera and changeable covers. Moreover, we’re hearing it may be introduced at some point this month.

Of course Sony Ericsson is super quiet about the whole thing leaving us to wait and see what will happen.

As a reminder, earlier Sony Ericsson’s Walkman smartphones were W950i and W960i, both of which got their “brain” from Symbian UIQ. I used to have the W960i and it was pretty solid device in its days…
