Trillian, an ancient player in multi-network IM clients, is following up on its iPhone app with one for BlackBerry. The Trillian for Blackberry beta offers access to AIM, Yahoo!, ICQ, Windows Live, MySpace and Facebook IM, GTalk, and Jabber all from within the same app. Just like the iPhone client, your contact lists are synced across desktop, web, and mobile apps. You can organizes contacts into groups and send pictures from the BlackBerry’s camera, too.
I remember using Trillian on desktop a long time ago, and it was one of the first to offer MSN and ICQ under the same roof. On BlackBerry, there are a lot of alternatives that have cropped up in the interim, like IM+ and Beejive. It’ll be interesting to see how well Trillian does, considering all of its experience, but the other guys have been on mobile for longer.
During the open beta of Trillian for BlackBerry, older builds will expire until public release, at which point you’ll probably have to pay out for the final version. You can take a closer look at the features and get downloading over at Cerulean’s landing page.
