WHERE, the BlackBerry app that helps you find pretty much anything, has been updated to version 1.8. Many new (and handy) features have been built-in, and if you’re a regular user this is a must update. Key enhancements include:
- New Home screen setup and better images. WHERE now has a better looking home screen with the most popular widgets added where they are most easily accessible.
- Check-in Widget – Quick Check-in – Check-in page will show number of people checked in to last 24 hr in selected POI.
- You can change personal star rating depending up on your experience each time you visit place.
- Improved gas price details page. You can report price of the gas if you found any discrepancy.
- In time of weather alert, Notification icon will appear besides “forecast” button. If you click notification icon it will take you to alert details page.
If you’ve never used WHERE before on your BlackBerry, I encourage you to give it a spin. It’s absolutely free to use, and will help you locate great restaurants, cheap gas, movies, friends that are nearby and more. Heck, you can even use it to read the news or check out your local weather. WHERE uses the GPS built-in to your BlackBerry to ‘help you find the people, places and things around you’.
From personal experience, I do like WHERE very much, but its effectiveness depends on the size of the city you’re living in. If you’re in a highly populated area, you should be good to go. If you’re in a smaller town or city, you’ll get results for sure, but you may not be overcome with joy after using the app… Just sayin’. 🙂 Give it a spin for yourself to see if you like it.
