I’ve touched on Dragon for Email before. In fact, it came out back in April for BlackBerry, and since then I’ve heard quite a few colleagues remark about how much they enjoy the app. Overall, initial impressions were chalked-full of kudos all around, however, folks packing a BlackBerry Tour were always miffed. Dragon for Email didn’t run very well (if at all) on the Tour. That is, until now.
The developers at Nuance have let it be known that the latest version of Dragon for Email is now compatible with the Tour! Yay! Nuance went ahead and fixed many of the issues Tour users were having, and the thing should run buttery smooth now.
Dragon for email is a dead-easy dictation tool for use on your BlackBerry. Powered by Dragon NaturallySpeaking, pop it open and speak to your Berry. The program will dictate the message for you right in your email client. You can even use it to punch in things like contact names and your subject line. It’s all-encompassing. Nuance claims it is up to 5 times faster than typing out your message. It’s hard to argue with that, however, be forewarned that you’ll need to speak up loud and clear to get your messaged dictated correctly. Otherwise you’re going to have to go back and punch in corrections anyway 🙂
The Tour-support-packing update brings the app up to version 1.6.2… But sadly, it is available in the US only. If you live elsewhere, you may need to look around a bit to get your hands on a copy.

Note: To all the BlackBerry users out there, if you’ve used Dragon before, I’d love to read your comments regarding your experiences with the app. Has it been ‘all good’? Or have you had troubles getting Dragon to dictate correctly for you? Let me know, y’hear?
