Fortumo launches instant-activation in-app payments for Android

Mobile payments provider Fortumo has launched an easy to integrate in-app payments solution for Android developers that [solution] works in roughly 40 countries around the world. As a result, developers are able to monetize their app or premium features inside the application via carrier billing.

On the other hand, end users do not have to register, enter credit-card information, or even insert a phone number — they can pay with a single click on the screen.

According to Fortumo, this kind of an approach is favored by smaller and medium-sized developers, who are looking for fast time-to-market. This is true because there are no startup fees, monthly fees or minimum volume commitments.

In addition to its newly unveiled Android solution, the company also plans to support in-app billing for Java and BlackBerry applications in the near future.

Finally, in case you’re wondering who Fortumo’s customers are, they include online game portals, mobile application developers, social networks and other internet entrepreneurs.
