After Expedia, Nokia is adding another content provider to its Ovi Maps. This time it’s Time Out, which is best known for its event listings and city guides.
To access the Time Out content, click on the “More…” link and select Time Out to see what’s happening around you. That’s actually in case you live in one of supported cities that include Chicago, Kuala Lumpur, Lisbon, London, New York, Singapore and Sydney. We’ve no doubts more places will be added in the future, but for a start, this isn’t bad at all.
Each Time Out listing has information about the event type (concert, movie, play, exhibition), rating, description, venue information and an optional review, phone, email, web and map links. For some of the events, you can book a ticket right from the app, which is a cool feature for spontaneous folks.
There are few categories to choose from, including film, eating and drinking, around town, music, stage, nightlife and art; and listings within categories can be sorted by time, critic’s choice and distance…
And that’s about it. We like the location-based stuff and are looking forward to see more such content and services being rolled out not only for Ovi Maps but for other popular mapping apps as well.
