Vodafone and Russia’s MTS are teaming up to launch “360 from MTS.” The two companies used the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum 2010 to announce the co-operation which will effectively see the Russian operator launching a suite of Internet services that integrate a customer’s social networks, email and mobile content in an “intuitive and friendly user experience.” 360 from MTS is based on the Vodafone 360 service and has been adapted for the Russian market.
I’m not a big fan of integrated services offered by today’s mobile operators. Having an app (or more of them) that keep me connected is my way of doing things, but I can clearly see the benefits of such services for an average user (as opposed to a geek like me). Let’s face it, most folks don’t even realize the full potential of their devices, and that’s where services like Vodafone 360 come in.
The exact launch date for “360 from MTS” was not specified. All we know is that it is planned for the 4th quarter of this year..
