It’s not like every day that we see a rugged Samsung handset. The Xcover (E2370) is more of an exception than the rule and it’s the same device we’ve seen at the Korean company’s portal during this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Now it’s officially launching in Sweden with other countries (I guess) to follow shortly. We’re talking about a certified for ruggedness handset with IP54 rating that includes withstanding of dust, water and drops.
Rest of the specs include a VGA camera, FM radio, Bluetooth, loudspeaker, flashlight (with a dedicated button), music player, 5MB of internal memory that’s further expandable with microSD cards. Moreover, the Xcover rocks a large 2000mAh battery that provides enough juice to keep the phone running for up to 22 hours in talk or 67 days in standby mode.
Price wise, Samsung is asking 950 SEK (99 EUR) for the Xcover. That’s starting from July, when interested folks will be able to grab it in either red or black…
