The HTC Legend

If you’re already packing an HTC Desire, Legend or Wildfire, I’ve got good news for you this morning. Real good news… that is, if you give a flying you-know-what about the OS your device is running. Hopefully you do.

In a statement released by HTC, we can confirm that Android 2.2 is coming to the Desire, Legend and Wildfire. Read below:

We are working hard with our partners to update the HTC Sense experience on Froyo and distribute it to our customers as fast as possible. We expect to release updates for several of our 2010 models including Desire, Legend and Wildfire beginning in Q3.

Very cool. If HTC is true to their word (I have no reason to doubt it), we could see Android 2.2 ‘Froyo’ on said devices as early as July.

By my account, the Droid, Droid Incredible, Nexus One, EVO 4G and MyTouch line of devices should all be getting their ‘Froyo’ on. In fact, the Nexus One is going to 2.2 already. The addition of the Desire, Legend and Wildfire makes sense, and really, completes a pretty solid lineup of devices packing Android 2.2.

Stay tuned for more. If you carry a Desire, Legend or Wildfire, and notice anything like, oh, I don’t know, an OS update notification… Be sure to let us know.
