BlackBerry 9800 Parts Now Available, Launching Soon?

RIM said they’d have OS 6 ready for this summer, and the BlackBerry 9800 seems to be the flagship that will spearhead the launch. The casing and keyboard for the device is now available to purchase, which is a sure sign that production in Waterloo is well underway. Red, white, and black versions are in stock, giving us an idea of what will be available at launch, and the battery door looks like it’s taken on a ridged texture, kind of like the 9650. One case further confirms that we’ll be seeing the slider on AT&T.

From what we’ve seen of the multitudinous videos of the device, the 9800 has a HVGA display, 5 megapixel camera, OS 6 (including Webkit browser), and 512 MB of RAM. It’ll likely reinvigorate BlackBerry fans who have been tempted by the more modern-feeling OSes on Android and iPhone devices, but I’m still not sure it would win over folks who are already using either one. I guess we’ll see this fall, eh?
