It seems Samsung is giving its best to fix the i7500 fiasco — if you recall, the Korean company’s first Android device is still stuck to version 1.5 of Google’s mobile OS. On that note, we’re glad to inform you that Samsung hasn’t forgotten its Omnia Pop (SPH-M7200) users, who were just being blessed with the Windows Mobile 6.5 update.
Needless to say, if you’re in the affected group, wait no further – hop over to this page, download what it takes and proceed to update. Windows Mobile 6.5 is a much better OS than its predecessor – version 6.1. Make sure to backup all your data prior to clicking any buttons, though.
In addition to the latest version of Microsoft’s mobile OS, the upgraded firmware also brings the latest Subway maps.
This isn’t the only Samsung’s WinMo device that got the firmware update. Recently, we reported that MetroPCS’ Samsung Code and AT&T’s Samsung Epix (i907) got the same treatment.
We salute all handset maker moves that make users happy – and making sure even the older devices run the latest OS version is definitely such a move…
