According to leaked info, Sprint was set to launch the LG Rumor for CDMA duty this quarter. Well, Sprint’s gone ahead and officially announced the LG Rumor today, and it looks like the LG Rumor is going to hit Sprint networks on November 4 – in your choice of White or Black (with a cool blue keyboard).

Sprint’s looking to bring the keypad/keyboard hybrid design that we love so much on the HTC Libra S720 to the lower-end market. The LG Rumor is all about mobile messaging. There’s that convenient keypad on below the display, and slide the screen to the left and you’ll find a vertically-oriented QWERTY keyboard. The keyboard gives the user convenient access to Facebook (or any other social network) profiles and text messages. And, owing to its messaging prowess, the LG Rumor automatically brings up the text messaging screen when you slide open the QWERTY keyboard.

But that’s not all. The LG Rumor packs a 1.3 megapixel camera with video capture, Bluetooth, MP3 player, microSD card slot, and SprintPCS Picture Mail. Measuring 4.3″ x 2.0″ x 0.7″ and registering 4.13 ounces on the scale, the LG Rumor is small-ish enough to make it a perfect fit for pockets and purses everywhere. If text messaging and keeping tabs on your social network with a QWERTY keyboard is your thing, you might want to start saving up $79.99 (with two-year contract and $50 rebate) for the November 4 launch.
