Last week, we told you about the Motorola Droid 2 cases that were mistakenly pictured on the Best Buy website. It was indicative of the coming of the Android smartphone, but it also signified the possibility that Best Buy would be carrying the Droid 2 on launch. Today, images surfaced online of the actual cases made by Rocketfish, so there is almost no doubt that the mega electronics retailer will be serving up the latest from Verizon.
The only question now is when the device will officially launch, and whether Best Buy will be holding a pre-sale like it did with the Droid X. Word is that it will be launching August 23, and that time frame certainly makes sense given the release of these accessories. Now it’s just a matter of patience before this Android 2.2 handset hits, so if you’ve held off from grabbing the Droid X in favor of this keyboard-packing smartphone, it’s just a matter of a few short weeks.
