A new Android handset from Motorola has passed through the FCC and the Bluetooth Special Interest Group bearing the model number MB508 and possibly the handsomest, most rugged name one could give a phone: Sage.
This thing has a 3.1″ touchscreen, a sliding QWERTY keyboard (likely landscape), runs Android 2.1, and has Wi-Fi, a-GPS, a digital compass, and Bluetooth. FCC filings suggest the Motorola Sage is bound for AT&T with quad-band EDGE and 7.2 Mbps HSDPA. So far, it has all the fixings for a high-end handset, but that’ll be confirmed once we learn what kind of resolution the screen is packing, and what the camera’s like. It seems more likely that the Motorola Sage will act as a lower-end alternative to the Droid 2. A keyboard that looks something like the Cliq wouldn’t be surprising.
