We were pretty sure Verizon was thankful for the success of the Motorola Droid X, but we didn’t know they would go this far to show their gratitude. Some Droid X owners are reporting that they have received a “thank you” package from Big Red themselves.
Within this package you’ll apparently find a t-shirt, a sticker, and a flyer that will give you 25% off of accessories. Pretty sweet deal, but even being the phone geek that I am, I’m not sure how often I’d be wearing that shirt. Still, nice touch, Verizon.
We’re not sure just how many people are receiving these thank you packages, but if everyone who bought the Droid X is receiving one, it’s likely to cost a pretty penny for the carrier. The person who receive the package pictured here apparently ordered their X over the phone, so maybe that’s the only way you can get one of these things, but we’re pretty much in the dark about the availability of the package.
I thought the Droid X was good enough. I don’t really need a thank you package, but guess I wouldn’t be opposed to one either. The 4.3-inch superphone is by far the best handset to ever hit the carrier, and I’d imagine it to keep going strong in sales, even after the Droid 2 is launched and the Droid 2 R2D2 version goes live. Nerds. If X owners are getting these gifts, I can only imagine what they may send to users who buy the Droid 2.
