As a frequent and avid iPad user, I’m always on the lookout for new and interesting ways to use the device. In the past, I’ve come across such genius ideas as a custom iPad-packed kitchen cabinet, velcro iPad mounts, an iPad arcade cabinet, and even an iPad fridge magnet. All very creative ideas for sure… and today I have one more brilliant (albeit somewhat useless) idea/modification to pass along.
Enter the old-school TV iPad. Or something. Not sure what to call the darn thing.
As you can see in the shot above, the creator (artist Jonas Damon) built himself a little enclosure to house his iPad. It looks just like an older tube TV, and for that, I have to give him a *tip of the cap*. Really does look quite nice. I suppose on the downside here is the new lack of portability. I hope he wasn’t planning on bringing the darn thing with him anywhere. That said, if I had something like this sitting on a desk or shelf in my office, I could see myself popping the iPad in there from time to time for a good laugh… I have a feeling that it might get kind of old real fast though.
Ah, whatever. In the end I have to give Jonas a high-five for his creativity here. He apparently built the darn thing out of materials he found in his apartment. So, he’s not only creative but resourceful as well. Call it what you will, I think we can all agree that this modification is worth, at the very least, a smile.
Well done, Jonas! Think you could send me one of these for review? I’ll test it and do up a thorough write-up, honest! 🙂
Note to Jonas: some ‘rabbit ears’ would be nice?
