Sports Tracker gets online service element

Sports Tracker, the application that allows Nokia smartphone users to keep track of their exercise activities, finally got an online component. To be fair the online component existed in the past, back when the application/service was known as Nokia Sports Tracker.

As you can imagine, the new online service allows you to get a big picture on a big screen of your desktop/notebook computer. There’s an option to compare your data with other Sports Tracker members, as well as to share your achievements with others via Facebook and Twitter.

In order to be able to upload data from the Sports Tracker mobile app to the online service, you’ll need to run mobile client version 3.5. You can download the app from Sports Tracker website or Ovi Store; or if you already have it on your device, you’ll need to update to the latest version (go to “Options” ad then “Check for update”).

If that’s on place, you’re ready to go. As soon as your workout has been completed, it can be uploaded to the service at any time. Along with the workout data, you can also upload associated photos and make all this either private or public — the latter option will allow anyone to access your workout details and comment on it. Likewise, you can also access other people’s workouts from the “Explore” view.

In addition to supporting the online component, Sports Tracker 3.5 also comes with a greater number of activity categories to choose from, including cross country skiing, rowing and sailing…

Sports Tracker works on Nokia smartphones running Symbian S60 3.1 and above. This includes such popular models as the Nokia N95, E71, E72, E63, N97, 5800, X6 and so on.
