DailyCandy Stylish Alerts brings geo-location content to New Yorkers with Android smartphones

DailyCandy, the popular women’s lifestyle brand, launched what they say is the “industry’s first location-triggered content delivery system” called DailyCandy Stylish Alerts for Android smartphone ownin’ New Yorkers. Developed in partnership with geo-notification provider Xtify, the free to use application delivers fashion, food and fun content to users in proximity of current local happenings like designer sales, spa deals and underground concerts.

The DailyCandy app is already available from the Android Market, and once grabbing and installing it, New Yorkers will begin receiving mobile alerts featuring content from DailyCandy’s New York edition, including Thursday’s popular Weekend Guide.

The application is ad-supported, allowing partners to sponsor a specific alert via ad banners or text links. Additionally, interested companies can buy a sponsored alert containing (for example) key discount codes to be presented in-store.

After trialing the product in New York City, DailyCandy plans to launch it in other cities it covers in the near future…
