Looks like salomandrin is up to his old tricks again. If you have a BlackBerry Bold 9650 in-hand, and are looking forward to OS 6… give this video a gander. In the video, he takes you through the new operating system, and shows it off for you to enjoy. You’ll get a walkthrough the basic interface, a look at the available memory, and really, just a casual browse through the OS.
While watching this walkthrough on the 9650, I couldn’t help but think to myself ‘that’s it!?’. At a minute or a half or so (1:19 actually) into the video, salomondrin comments:
‘there’s nothing crazy to see here, just the phone itself running on 6.0’
OK, so RIM launches a new OS… a new operating that was supposed to blow our socks off, right?.. and one of the most trusted and seasoned tipsters on the BlackBerry scene can only go a minute before he runs out of things to talk about? Uh oh. Not good.
Sure, overall does look solid, there’s lots of flashy transitions and new graphical components…and MANY new features and enhancements have been thrust into the fold… But why do I get the feeling that more than one hardcore BlackBerry user is going to be disappointed when they catch up to OS 6? Were we expecting too much?
Please, sound off in the comments.
