U.S. Cellular Gets BlackBerry Bold 9650, Ships August 18

It looks like US Cellular is finally getting a decent BlackBerry handset in its line-up with the Bold 9650. Adding to the Pearl Flip and Curve 8530, US Cellular will be offering the 9650 for $230 with a contract. Not too shabby for a phone that runs on a pretty solid EV-DO Rev. A network here in the States, but works with 3G networks abroad.

The world capable phone will start shipping on August 18 and is pretty much the same phone you’d find on the Sprint or Verizon networks. The U.S. Cellular version, however, will offer applications straight from the carrier like navigation. It’s much like the BlackBerry Tour 9630, but the Bold 9650 features a trackpad for navigation and it has 512MB of memory for app storage. It also has a 3.2 megapixel camera that takes decent quality pictures and a 2.4-inch HVGA display.

If you’re looking to grab the BlackBerry Bold 9650 for U.S. Cellular, check out our review of the Sprint version here.
