Samsung Apps downloads hit 4 million in South Korea

Samsung’s mobile application store, Samsung Apps, is growing steadily. In its own backyard, it has crossed 4 million downloads which is a promising figure considering the store was launched in December of last year.

At the moment, Samsung’s catalog contains more than 700 apps, and the top downloaded apps in the last few days include such titles as Asphalt 5, Hangul Bible and Makeup Beauty.

The Korean company also announced that its bada app store (applications that work on the Samsung Wave) has crossed 6 million downloads worldwide.

Again, those are nice figures for a relatively young application store, but as you know they don’t come even close to the AppStore or Android numbers. I’ve no doubts Samsung is pushing major developers on “bada board” as we speak, but I’m not sure that will necessarily make the platform more appealing to the little (developer) guy. On that note, I can’t wait to get Skype on my Wave. Samsung, are you listening?
