Yamgo, the global mobile TV network which we’ve already covered for few times in the past, has launched a mobile phone video viral marketing service to enable consumers to send videos to their friends without the need to download any software. This in turn opens a new distribution method for brands to use consumers to virally spread adverts on mobile devices.
In other words, Yamgo tries to be on mobile what YouTube is on computers, allowing users to freely send video clip links to their friends and colleagues. Of course, instead of email, Yamgo users can send video links via SMS.
As you know, Yamgo works on an array of mobile phones, requiring no special software to be installed. And the idea is to enable (or how they say it – “empower”) brands to capitalise on a “creative way to engage their audience and turn consumers into marketers.”
We’ll see whether that can fly…
