Rhomobile announced RhoSync 2.0, the latest version of what they say is the “only open source sync server for enterprise data.” It is a standalone server that keeps application data current and accessible on users’ smartphones even when offline, and is available both as a hosted Software as a Service (via RhoHub) and as on-premises sync server that company can host.

The new version of RhoSync performs its server data caching and incremental device update differencing via the open source Redis key value database, providing an enhanced level of performance and scalability. Furthermore, RhoSync 2.0 packs support for Objective C for iPhone development.

As you may’ve heard (or not), RhoSync was built from the ground up to target for smartphone clients. The solution sings along built-in push APIs such as those the iPhone and the latest (RIM) BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) rock. As a result, mobile applications that rely on RhoSync can receive near real-time data updates while not killing the battery life…

And you can get additional information from this page on Rhomobile’s website.
