Poynt for BlackBerry Updated with Rotten Tomatoes Ratings

The Poynt location-based search app for BlackBerry has been updated with a variety of changes, mainly optimizations for OS 6 on the Torch 9800 (i.e. universal search and new contextual menu icons), but there are some solid new features, like routing through Google Maps rather than BlackBerry Maps, and Rotten Tomatoes ratings when looking up movies. Among the usual breed of bug fixes, there’s also new result sorting options and extended weather forecasts in version 1.6.

Poynt is a really excellent search app also available on iPhone and Android that takes your position into account no matter what you’re looking for. There are dedicated channels available for gas stations, movies, restaurants,  white pages, and yellow pages, with tight integration with the native address book, phone, and mapping applications. The well-polished UI and highly practical functions make Poynt one of my favourite apps, and if you give it a shot at one of the download links below, I think there’s a good chance you’ll see why.
