OpenFeint brings multiple games to Android

Even the most ardent Android fanboy (I’m talking about you, Blake) has to admit that the Apple iPhone platform has it licked when it comes to gaming. OpenFeint is trying to change that and the popular mobile gaming company is bringing the heat with a bunch of popular games.

“Android users deserve great games but haven’t had access to enough of them. That changes today,” said Jason Citron, CEO of Aurora Feint, makers of OpenFeint, in a prepared statement. “Hundreds of thousands of people activate Android phones every day, and there is a clear need for high quality games in the marketplace. The major wireless carriers are partnering with us to select the best games from iOS – like Fruit Ninja – to bring to Android.”

The full list of games will be at the bottom of this post but it includes many popular Apple iOS games. The super cool thing about the OpenFeint platform is that it will work between devices and operating systems. That means you’ll be able to compare your scores on the Android Fruit Ninja with your iOS friends. There will also be leader boards, friending and more.

With these games and the upcoming full version of Angry Birds, Android users will be able to hold their heads up high when it comes to gaming.

Here’s the full list and developers can go to OpenFeint’s developer’s portal for more information.
