The Samsung Galaxy S Captivate has been dangled in front of Canadians for a few days now. We’d heard of rumored delays, and the exact timing of the launch was really still up in the air. However, now we can put that all to bed, because Rogers has launched the Samsung Galaxy S Captivate ‘Exclusive’ online pre-order. All of the details can be found right here.
Available in black, and… well, black only, the pre-order page allows you to select your plan and one additional feature for free. The additional features include unlimited sent & received messages, MY5 Canada-wide, Unlimited Canada-wide calling to/from Rogers Wireless, home or Fido customers… 5PM early evening calling and double minutes. A lot of good choices for sure, and quite honestly, I don’t have a recommendation. Depends on your situation and needs.
Of course, to make the pre-order you’ll need to sign up for a 3-year contract. Pricing on the Rogers Samsung Galaxy S Captivate is set at $149.99… and it doesn’t matter which of the two plans you choose, the price stays the same.
The two available plans will offer you 450 minutes plus 500 MB of data for $60 per month… and 300 minutes plus 500 MB of data for $50 per month. If you feel you’re going to gobble up even more data, you can add an extra 500 MB and tethering, for an extra $5 per month. In addition, anyone that goes through with the pre-order will receive a WEP570 Bluetooth headset. Not sure if this will be offered once the pre-order period is over, time will tell.
