Seesmic for iPhone was launched four months ago and just got a significant update. In addition to the usual iOS 4 optimizations for multitasking and the Retina display, Seesmic will now let you create and add to Twitter lists, view @ reply and DM conversations in a handy threaded view, and support for Facebook messages. There’s some interesting integration with two services built for saving content for viewing later – great for when you see a link to something interesting in Twitter, but would rather read it on the big screen later on. Finally, there are a few more aesthetic improvements, such as pulling down from the top of the list to refresh a timeline, and automatic refreshing when you reach the bottom.
Seesmic was born as a browser-based Twitter client, but has since expanded to BlackBerry and Android, with plans to get in the door early with Windows Phone 7. They’re also embracing more social networks than just Twitter, including solid support for Facebook and LinkedIn with many more accessible through their acquisition, Ping.fm.
