Amid all of the craziness of CTIA, AT&T quietly slipped out a decent little messaging phone from Pantech called the Laser. It looks a little different from what we saw at the FCC a few weeks ago, but no matter. Besides being named after the awesome marriage of science and destruction, the Laser has a 3.1″ WVGA AMOLED touchscreen, 3 megapixel camera, GPS, and an impressively slim 9.95mm profile.
The last phone Pantech released on AT&T was the Ease, which was also a slider, but was geared towards the elderly. The Laser, by contrast, comes with social networking preloads, photo and video sharing tools, and some neat gesture recognition software that lets you execute commands by tracing a shape on the screen with the finger. Aside from the Ease, the only other landscape sliders that AT&T offers are the Samsung Impression and LG Vu Plus.
The Pantech Laser will be available on AT&T starting October 17 for $99.99 on a two-year contract after rebates, which you’ll be able to find in their online store.
