Verizon is rolling out software updates to owners of the BlackBerry Tour 9630, Bold 9650, and Curve 8530 tonight at around 6 PM EST. Before you get your hopes up, no, this isn’t OS 6, but rather some incremental stuff on top of OS 5. Both Verizon’s Tour and Bold will get some push-to-talk performance improvements, while the Curve is getting some GPS and visual voicemail improvements.
We’re expecting the Verizon BlackBerry 9650 to get an update to OS 6 eventually, so it seems a little weird that it’s getting new software now, but the update sounds worthwhile for the other two older devices. Who knows how much longer Verizon will be testing OS 6 before it actually rolls out, but we’re expecting something before the end of the year.
When the hour rolls around tonight, head over to Verizon’s respective Bold 9650, Tour 9630, and Curve 8530 sites to get downloading.
