After expanding to Canada, UK and Australia – Booyah is bringing its location-based service MyTown to other parts of the world. From what I’ve understood, the new update is for the iOS devices only, though I’m sure that will change in due course.
Using the updated application, you can check-in to your favorite real-life locations around the world, as long as you can download MyTown (i.e. AppStore is available in your country) and can access Google Places.
At the moment, MyTown is used by more than 3.5 million users, who can easily locate, purchase and/or “virtually own” any of their real-life locations that can be found on Google maps.
Earlier in the year, MyTown got a product scanning feature, encouraging users to scan product barcodes to unlock points and earn exclusive virtual rewards. Future MyTown updates will include unlimited level-up bonuses for the most dedicated players, and that’s something we’ll most likely cover when becomes available…
