If you’re dying to get a Samsung Galaxy Tab but don’t want to shell out any cash for it, you may want to check out the company’s Twitter stream for a chance to win a free Android tablet.

According to Samsung, you could potentially win one by:

1. go to http://twitter.com/samsungmobileus
2. become a follower and tweet your response to the question posted and
3. include #WINGALAXYTAB hashtag in your response. You must include the hashtag to be eligible to win!

The Samsung Galaxy Tab is a powerhouse Android tablet and getting it for free would be quite a nice treat. The device features a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen tablet, Android 2.2 (Froyo), a 1 GHz Hummingbird processor, two cameras, and all the connectivity you’d expect from this type of device.

We don’t know which version of the Android tablet Samsung will be giving away, as we know the Galaxy Tab will come in multiple variants. Whichever one it gives away, you can be sure that you’ll be getting a fine piece of hardware for free.

Best Buy will be selling a WiFi-only version for $499, which is the same price as the entry-level Apple iPad. Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T will be offering versions with 3G capabilities but only Sprint and Verizon have revealed its pricing.

Verizon is not subsidizing the Galaxy Tab and will be offering it for $599 with monthly data options. Sprint will be subsidizing the tablet for $399 but that comes with a long-term contract. You’ll have some flexibility on which data plan you want but that’s still a lot of money over the long run.

At IntoMobile, we’re very excited about this Android tablet but it will be interesting to see how the market reacts. We know that tablets will be a big market but it may take a few more contenders to displace the Apple iPad from the top of the heap.
