Handmark launched two new apps for Android smartphone owners – PolitiCaster Right and PolitiCaster Left. As you can guess, the first of the two is aimed at Republican Party fans, whereas the second looks for its user base among the Democrats. In other words, whichever side you pick, Handmark will make money out of you (in case you download the app, that is).
Both apps are free, ad-supported and can be immediately downloaded from the Android Market. Here’s the short description of what to expect (from the press release):
The PolitiCaster apps bring all the best national and local political news and commentary from hundreds of news sources together in a simple, easy to use mobile experience. The apps include customized content based on the different viewpoints of each party. PolitiCaster Right features special news and commentary from some of the most influential conservative blogs, including The National Review, Red State, and Michelle Malkin, while PolitiCaster Left includes instant access to leading liberal blogs like the Huffington Post, Daily Kos, Think Progress and more.
Of course, each of the articles can be shared via email, Facebook and Twitter; and there’s also a new “Talk Back” feature that enables users to send a personal note or forward any article to their senators, congresspersons, popular political media personalities or even the President.
In addition to Android, Handmark plans to launch the two apps to other mobile platforms in the coming weeks…
