Samsung should consider itself one lucky company to have such a dedicated hacking community for one of its products. The product we’re talking about here is the i8910 HD, which by some standards is still the best Symbian S60 device out there — for instance, it has a bigger screen than the Nokia N8 and stereo speakers, which the N8 lacks. It has received yet another firmware update (firmware version HX-V11-5), packing several cool features, including:
- Full integration of Qt 4.7 RC1, allowing for seamless running of Qt-based apps
- Ability to change which virtual QWERTY keyboard is used
- Swype support with all virtual keyboards and languages
- New version of HX-Patcher from where you can tweak the CPU speed, device ID, browser ID and more
- A new “100% backup” tool that enables users to back-up everything on a memory card. Very cool!
The new firmware is available in multiple languages — including English, French, Italian, German and Spanish — and you can get more information from this page.
